Worthless - Netquote Insurance Quote Company

I recently saw mention of Netquote no the Today Show. A caller had a question regarding home-owner insurance. One of the financial "experts" suggested filling out the online form with Netquote to generate competitive bids. As I am in the exact circumstance of needing to renew my home-owner policy I decided to give Netquote a shot.

The first problem I encountered when filling out the form was my current policy writer was not listed, and Netquote wouldn't let me move through the form without picking a company. They didn't offer an "other" or "not listed" option.

Perhaps this is where the system broke down.

I finished filling out the questionnaire, and answered all the questions.

I never received a call, nor a quote, nor a contact of any sort via email regarding my insurance request. I did get a "how'd we do?" email after a week or so. So, I know I made it into their database, and at least part of their process.

I don't know a better way get competitive quotes for insurance, but I certainly know what doesn't work. Perhaps I was just the sucker Netquote was looking for, in that I provided a lot of personal information without any return.

Don't be suckered yourself, avoid Netquote when looking for insurance.
